Why do people touch their faces while communicating with others ?

I’m pretty sure that while interacting with somebody before you notice that they are touching their faces or you notice that you are even touching your face while talking to somebody and here is why this happens.

when our emotions change our physical state changes as well, in other words some things happen to our bodies that we feel like taking certain actions maybe a blood capillary will contract maybe it will relax maybe the blood flow will change in your body any type of physical change that happens in your body might motivate you to take a certain gesture.

in order to bring your body into equilibrium and so this explains the connection between emotions and gestures now based on this concept i’m gonna tell you about some of the famous gestures that people do while talking.

I’m gonna explain their meanings

1. Touching The Ears or Scratching The Ears While Speaking

Psychology

It means that the person has heard something that they did not want to hear or that they said.

something that they didn’t want to say this is a negative gesture and it means that the person did not like what they heard or what they said this is also why some people might tell you that this gesture might mean that the person is lying simply because if the person didn’t like the fact that they are telling a lie they might touch their ears while telling it

2. Scratching the top of the head

Psychology

Another very famous gesture that i’m pretty sure that you already know about it and this happens when the person feels confused or when the person is loaded with tons of information that they can’t properly process this is called in body language the state of confusion

3. Touching The Eyebrows

Psychology

People touch their eyebrows when they believe that something positive has happened if for example you told the person that the person that they like likes them back they might touch their eyebrows because this means that they found that thing positive in other words this is a positive gesture that means that somebody liked something that happened and

4. Touching The Nose

Psychology

Contrary to this gesture there is touching the nose which is the total opposite of that this gesture happens when you believe that something negative has happened as in somebody tells you a comment that you do not like or somebody criticizes your clothes for example you might find yourself taking that gesture which means that you didn’t like what happened

5. Touching The Chin or Stroking The Chin

Psychology

Another famous gesture that you might know about already which is and this means that the person is evaluating something the person is thinking about something and trying to evaluate something to reach some kind of a conclusion.

6. Touching The Back of The Neck or Scratching The Back of The Neck

Psychology

This gesture means that the person felt that they are in trouble believe it or not when somebody believes that they are in trouble or when they hear something that makes them think that they are in trouble they might scratch their neck like that a person for example who’s driving a car without proper license or papers might do this gesture as soon as they see a policeman in the street which means that they felt that they are in trouble.
